Here's Why The PowerA Wireless Gamecube Controller For The Switch Surprised Me

The Wireless PowerA Gamecube Controller is out at the end of the month and is set up to more so compete with the Switch Pro Controller instead of the Gamecube controller on the Nintendo Switch. This controller keeps the same form factor that the original Gamecube controller had and makes the whole thing wireless through blue tooth while adding all of the necessary buttons to operate Switch games. I like what I see with this controller and I hope PowerA continues to build from this controller going forward.

  • BRO your reviews are so good

  • What I really like about Power A controller sticks is that the center click is made of metal instead of cheap plastic nubs like 8bitdo and ps4 controllers.

  • I made the mistake of using these to play smash, now the left stick is not as responsive and has dead zones, I used the warranty to get a second one and the new one ended up having the same issues. Is it worth fixing (can it be fixed) or should I just toss them?

  • My Only Gripe Is The Lack Of Any Rumble. I Modded Mine With A Battery Pack, So You Can Charge It With The Same Cord That Charges Your Switch. Never Worry About Double A's Again.
But I Haven't Seen AnyThing So Far To Implement Any Kind Of Rumble. Which Is A Shame, I'd Absolutely Love To Get This Controller Rumbling

  • Nah bro these things are straight garbage, EVERY single one of the three I bought had HORRIBLE left drifting issues after the first week of me owning them , I looked it up, it happens to a HEFTY percent of the people who buy them. I don't play games roughly or throw my controllers. I wrapped up the cords carefully after each use, always inserted the cord gently. And still, after 5-7 days they would just have left drifting issues. Pieces of absolute dog crap.

  • Hello, thanks to you I managed to repair the joysticks of my joycons. Please do not know by chance which 3d Joystick I can use to repair this wireless game cube controller for switch? the one you show in the video. Is that I can not use the same as the original gamecube because I occupy being able to press the joystick for the L3 and R3 buttons.
I thank you if you know something, this would be very helpful

  • Someone needs to make plugs for the triggers to they act like the analogue ones on the joycons/Pro-controller

  • One year later this controller developed a drift… I noticed it while playing Smash. I haven't been able to take it apart to see if it maybe needs to be cleaned but beware, this controller can drift like the joy cons. Not as bad though

  • It should be designed after the wavebird

  • I bought a pro controller, but fresh out the box, it came with drift… So had to send it back, I hate Nintendo's switch controllers, not sure what happened… I bought the powerA controller, and should arrive this Wednesday… Hope PowerA fares better, cuz I've lost all faith in first party options.
