  • The Gamecube is a beast. It was more durable than the Wii in my experience plus some games actually looked better to me than on Wii. I like the look and playability of Zelda TP on GC more than Wii and it can run just as smooth and some say they notice it runs smoother overall than the HD version and I prefer the smoother gameplay on the older versions of that game.
Fact: Gamecube runs some in game gameplay smooth around 30fps and some run smooth around 60fps
It's amazing how Zelda TP is a game that runs in in game gameplay smooth to my eyes at around 30fps instead of 60fps. Some games including Zelda TP looks better than the Wii from a comparison test I saw of the game which really blew my mind and since I have not got far or beat the game currently I will stick with the GC version.

  • Guess this isn't any use to me, no component port.

Been looking for hdmi options, and just about everything designed for Nintendo consoles is impossible to find now.

Maybe its time to think about getting a generic composite to hdmi converter.

  • Is there a way to play it wide screen with every single game? I hate those black block borders… I'm very picky with that.

  • MetalJesusRocks , i got a question. I have a region-free GameCube in order to play both NTSC and PAL Games.
I have a european hd tv and i'm using a no-name analog av to scart – cable . My picture has a lot of noise and when playing NTSC Games it's even worse.
CAN I FIX THIS ISSUE WITH THIS TOOL ??
i'd be really happy if you can help me, thx !

  • My TV has 3 HDMI ports, 1 coax, and 1 composite. And damn… I never realized just how much detail I missed when I was playing with composite input in my youth… but I can't stand it now! I need a Digital Out to HDMI! Thankfully, my newly-acquired GameCube is the DOL-001 model!

  • Thanks for this. I remember I used to have the original model GameCube before getting the one that removed the Digital AV out port. Always wondered why they did that. I was always browsing the Nintendo website as a kid and if I knew then what I know now, I would’ve ordered one or two component cables. If by some chance my TV has ports for the D-Terminal cable, can I go for that instead? Also can I use one of those D-Terminal to component converter cables if not?

    Double A July 20, 2020 6:23 pm Reply
  • On the subject of the og xbox, only American ones will do 480p I believe. You have to mod the eeprom for pal systems.
Even so it can already be done with a normal component to hdmi adapter (and a eeprom mod for pal systems) so would be pointless imo
